I have leaf guards, but they are not underneath the shingles. They are also made of metal. I dorgot which gutter company I used. I think it's their own product. I had them for about 5 years and they doa good job. Btw, you look like a young Sean Penn. Just thought you'd like to know. 🙂

Best shingles and underlayment for noise reduction?

$500,000 commission on $3.1 M build sales is a 16% sales commission rate. That's a pretty high commission rate for roofing sales.

Do you have any recommendations for the best shingle and underlayment products for noise reduction through the roof? (Think airplane flyovers.) My understanding is that this is a situation in which thicker and heavier materials are going to perform better. -Heavy architectural asphalt shingles with plenty of overlap. On underlayment, I see it as plausible that a 30 lb Felt underlayment could be best for noise reduction, but there are thicker, heavier synthetic underlayments, too... I'm in the Seattle area so water is a real problem, which makes me think felt is a bad choice, but are there other underlayment products that should be good at reducing noise?

hello everybody is June 2024 and I have blueprints for an 8 by 10 LP outdoor building solution shed assembly instructions Pine Grove cable roof shed... I read some comments briefly and I heard there was some kind of problem or some kind of class action lawsuit? I mean these plans blueprints, we're expensive around $500 but we were given to me from one of my best friends who built a shed and looks pretty good and it's still kicking after 3 years... but I'm about to build one now is there anything I should do I'll look out for a problems? any advice would be much appreciated thank you very much !

I am a personal trainer and have 1,000 things to say. It is a scam and I will try to keep it brief. 1. Thumbtack used to be phenomenal (2 years ago and back to 2014) Leads were cheap and you werent charged until you actually responded. 2. Now, if a client responds to your quote you are charged a fee of roughly $20-45 3. "Direct leads" are not direct leads. For these I am charged $50-80 just for an opportunity to communicate with the prospect. Thumbtack now ENCOURAGES consumers to contact as many pros as possible which makes it by definition (in my opinion) NOT a direct lead. 4. Just from my experience the lead quality has degraded by I would say 70%. My sales ability and process has remained good imo and I used to close 2/3. In the past couple of years that has gone way down because their screening process is terrible. 5. This is a direct response from a customer and happened just the other day: Prospect message: "Hey thank you, sorry this was an automated text sent from the thumbtack concierge team sorry for the miscommunication." My response: "That’s fine S#$%& (redacted name) no worries but what does that mean? Are you interested in finding a coach like me?" Prospect: "No sir, sorry again for the miscommunication." Me: "Ok, if you can inform thumbtack I would appreciate it. and just to be clear, you did not send the message? I know this is not your concern (and I believe you of course) but it is just strange since we are charged when you "reply" Prospect: "No I didn’t, I received a call from thumbtack support about another trainer I had messaged myself. And by the time I got off the phone I noticed that the app sent a message to you at 12:12pm moments after I got off the phone with the support team.I was also confused as well cause I most definitely didn’t compose the message myself. But I will let them know momentarily about the issue. Sorry again have a nice day." Me: "Thank you so much for providing me details I really appreciate it. Most would just ignore my last message to be candid." I have 100 other examples like this. Thumbtack occasionally commits outright fraud! I continued using Thumbtack for a while after it stopped being effective because it used to truly be evergreen and consistent.

Atlas seems like a top quality manufacture. They have actual wide nail zones, with full common bond. Actual 3m Scotch guard, which is 10% minimum copper granules. Some other brands have similar sounding “names” that have about 1/3 the copper. 1. Streak Fighter 2.Stain Guard 3.Streak Guard These all sound similar in marketing, but in reality are much different. I have seen light grey roofs turn black in 8 years. Atlas has also been adding to their Polymer Modified Asphalt shingle line. A mid tier shingle, this speaks of a company that cares about longevity, more than selling a roof every 7 years after a hail storm.

It's this time window that is the problem. The carriers give about 2 years to file a claim and then it's on the homeowner. Here where we are hail prone I would council customers with marginal damage to wait for another storm but the carrier puts them in a box where they either do it now or they are out of luck later. Open the window to 7 or 8 years and let us absorb a couple light storms. Most homeowners don't want to keep replacing roofs either but are forced into it knowing that if they decide to move in a few years they will have to pay for it themselves because of this time window
